Global Forum event - :

Partnerships Campaign for the SDGs workshop

It is increasingly apparent that the SDGs need to engage and mobilise the whole of society in new kinds of partnerships between government and all other stakeholders. This is the only way we can achieve the transformational change that is needed.

Further information

Members of the Global Forum are extremely well placed to observe and influence the extent to which this is happening in their countries. From this they can provide key insights on what is needed to create a partnership enabling environment that can systematically deliver more, and more effective, partnerships. This is why the Global Forum is a partner with the Partnerships2030, UNDESA and TPI on the Partnerships Campaign for the SDGs.

As part of this collaboration, members of the Global Forum are invited to an online workshop.  This is part of the campaign’s research, which also includes the survey.   The results will be used to inform a report, and a call to action, to be launched in September 2023 at the SDG Summit in New York.

Objectives of the online workshop

The objectives of this session will be to:

  • Familiarise members with the campaign and agree how the Global Forum can best contribute
  • Contribute to the research by hearing from members about the role of government and national policies in enabling multi-stakeholder partnerships
  • For members to share examples of good practice in creating an enabling environment for partnerships, and discussing how these could be developed into ‘country snapshots’ for the report and for potentially sharing during a symposium at the 2023 SDG Summit
