The Global Forum for SDG Advisory Bodies, along with UNDESA, Partnerships 2030 and TPI, is delighted to be a partner behind a new campaign to highlight the need to invest in a strong enabling environment for partnerships that can deliver the SDGs and climate goals.
Organizers
- Partnerships2030, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
- UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA)
- The Partnering Initiative
- Global Forum for National SDG Advisory Bodies
This VNR Lab will focus on various national stakeholder engagement formats for delivering the 2030 Agenda and contributing to VNR drafting processes with society as a whole. These formats can often constitute central components of national governance architectures and are highly context dependent. They therefore vary accordingly in their set-up, mandate, and role. If institutionalized as multi-stakeholder advisory bodies, they can support navigating the complex challenges in times of multiple crises and transformation.

As part of the campaign, we’ll be holding an online event on Monday March 27th, 2.30pm UK time to discuss the enabling factors – from organizations being institutionally ‘fit for partnering’ to how collaboration is funded - that can help foster transformative, collective action. Moderated by Darian Stibbe, Executive Director at TPI, the discussion is an official side event of the UNECE UN Regional Forum on Sustainable Development.
Susanne Salz from Partnerships 2030, and Flynn Lebus from FSG will be among colleagues from around the world joining to discuss how we can scale up the use of partnerships for the SDGs and climate action.
