Center for Advanced Economic Studies on behalf of the “SDGs for All” Platform (CEVES )
The “SDGs for All” Platform, funded by the Governments of Switzerland and Germany and implemented by GIZ, enables a broad discussion on the Serbian priorities for the 2030 Agenda among country’s non-state actors, including civil society, corporate sector, academic and research community, media and the citizens.
The Platform is a three pillar structure corresponding to the three dimensions of sustainable development: social, economic and environmental.Overall management operates in an integrated manner, recognizing that the SDGs and targets are closely interlinked.
Main activities of the Platform include conducting advocacy initiatives to ensure alignment of regulations with sustainable development goals, organizing round tables, conferences and public discussions and preparing annual reports for monitoring Serbia’s progress in achieving sustainable development goals.
Vision and work in relation to the Global Forum
The ”SDGs for All” Platform is advocating for the alignment of Serbia’s development policy and normative framework with the principles of the 2030 Agenda and SDGs.
The Platform insists that development strategies and plans should be based on the prioritization and nationalization of sustainable development goals. Not only is the 2030 Agenda an adequate framework for discussing and deciding about main development priorities for any country, but such alignment with the 2030 Agenda would further encourage and strengthen Serbia’s position to contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda globally.
Bringing together voices from different sections of society
The core of the “SDGs for All” Platform consists of seven prominent civil society organisations in Serbia - namely Belgrade Open School (external link, opens in a new window), Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society (external link, opens in a new window), Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac (external link, opens in a new window), Foundation Center for Democracy (external link, opens in a new window), Smart Kolektiv (external link, opens in a new window), TOC – Association for the Development of Sustainable Communities (external link, opens in a new window) and Center for Advanced Economic Studies CEVES (external link, opens in a new window).
Each of these organisations has its own mission and vision and target groups, and together they are united in advocating for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. It is thanks to these organisations’ diverse target groups and the broad networks they nurture, that the Platform manages to bring together all sections of society including national and local government representatives, research institutes, faculties, small- and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, regional development agencies and youth.
As important, is the fact that the Platform strives to tailor all its public events and products (eg monitoring reports) to make them interesting and valuable both for the state and non-state sector.
