JVOF’s vision is to be the leading foundation in Northern Philippines in the development of resilient communities harnessing their spirit of co-operation and enterprise, and nurturing their environmental capital – ensuring a legacy of sustainability for future generations.
JVOFI’s mission, a seasoned development NGO, is to mobilize strategic partnerships to respond to communities in need through knowledge building, preservation of ecological integrity & access to resources.
Vision and work in relation to the Global Forum
JVOFI's goals are to:
- maintain a role as a catalyst for development of communities to be self-reliant and resilient
- contribute to increasing the income of households to meet their basic needs
- strengthen environmental stewardship to sustain resources for future generations.
JVOFI serves as a convenor establishing connections and exploring opportunities for collaboration to implement development programmes. We partner with academic institutions, the private sector, people’s organizations, non-government organizations, and the government to share data, information, best practices, and resource counterparts to help advance the SDGs.
Each contribution we share as a CSO plays a meaningful role in advancing the sustainable development of the communities we serve through multistakeholder partnerships.
Bringing together voices from different sections of society
Part of JVOFI’s mission is to mobilize strategic partnerships. For example, in our projects, we bring together to the table key stakeholders with varying mandates and programmes to address common concerns. We organize stakeholders into technical working groups that are formally recognized by their respective local government units, government agencies and private organizations. We conduct round table discussions, participatory analysis, and validation activities with our stakeholders and integrate their voices and perspectives in the decision-making processes and implementation of aproject.
Our organisation implements activities like capacity-building, provision of livelihood assistance, emergency and relief assistance, micro-enterprise development, and environmental advocacy. All of these are geared towards contributing to the UN SDGs.
